Taiwan Trade Fair kicked off in Hargeisa, the administrative capital of Somaliland on Wednesday, October 28.
The trade expo is scheduled to last for the next two days before ending on October 29.
Allen C. Lou, Taiwan’s Representative to Somaliland, opened the trade expo officially while outlining its purpose.
Lou urged Somaliland’s businesses and the entire public to take advantage of the trade expo as a way of strengthening relations with Taiwan.
During his address, Lou said, “Taiwan continues to support Somaliland’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic with the right tools and knowledge.”
He promised that Taiwan would not stop supporting the efforts by the government of Somaliland to curb the spread of the disease in the country.
Ambassador Lou told guests at the trade expo that the government and businesses of Taiwan are prepared to support those in Somaliland.
Mohamed Ahmed Awad and Liban Yusuf Gaaxnug, the Minister of Environment and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs represented the government of Somaliland at the trade expo.
