A team from Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is in Somalia.
They visited Ahmed Fiqi, the federal Minister of Interior Affairs, in Mogadishu on Thursday, October 6.
Fiqi was together with Ilyas Ali Hassan when he met with the Pakistani delegation.
Hassan is the State Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation.
The NADRA team presented their plans for supporting the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) in implementing the new national ID initiative in the East African nation.
Somalia has announced plans to introduce new generation IDs for all its citizens.
Furthermore, the government recently declared its intentions to take the biometrics of every single Somali in the country.
