On Monday, fighting erupted in Somali’s border with Kenya. The violence was between Somalis fighting among themselves.
However, security experts now believe that the continued tension along the border could be great news for Al-Shabaab.
The militant group could use this opportunity to spread terror around the border and beyond.
It is instructive to note that the fight broke out one day after 11 MPs from Kenya visited Somalia on a secret tour. The MPs met President Farmaajo during their tour of Somalia.
As violence erupted, the 11 MPs were under a lot of pressure to justify their Somali visit. The MPs had claimed that they were in Somalia to seek solutions for the terror of Al-Shabaab.
The fight was between Somali National Army troops and Jubbaland forces protecting Abdirashid Janan.
