Three Al-Shabaab terrorists lost their lives when a mine exploded around them.
The militants died when an explosion occurred in Bardhabaq, Buuloburde District on Monday.
Those killed in the incident had a few weapons with them, including AK47 rifles.
According to sources, the three militants were attempting to plant the mine when it exploded and killed them on the spot.
Later, security officers visited the scene of the incident to confirm what had transpired.
Military officials stated that those killed in the explosion had their bodies badly mutilated and strewn all over the place.
Al-Shabaab is notorious for planting explosive devices in the region.
