The European Union has confirmed that three of its employees working in Somalia have tested positive for COVID-19.
EU said that the three, who were part of the personnel at its base in the Horn of Africa nation, have just been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Nicolas Berlanga Martinez, EU Ambassador to Somalia, confirmed this news to members of the press today.
Further, he revealed that the three have been isolated at a local health facility where they are under observation while receiving treatment.
Additionally, Martinez also announced that contact tracing has begun in earnest to curb the spread of the virulent disease among people who may have been in touch with the three.
