Three journalists in Lasanod were arrested in the last few days of December on the orders of the local Governor of Sool region.
Abdifatah Mohamed Abdi, a journalist working for Holhol Media was arrested on December 26.
The others were detained on December 30.
They have been identified as Abdikhadar Farah Abshir and Hamze Abdirahman Ahmed.
Abshir works for Universal Somali TV as a reporter while Ahmed is a freelance journalist in the region.
They are in detention following the orders issued by Governor Abdikarin Adan Haji Diriye of Sool region.
Somali Journalists Syndicate (SJS) has already spoken out strongly against the detention, which they termed illegal.
