Three people were killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in Hiiran region on Monday.
Sources indicate that the IED attack targeted a convoy that included the Governor of the Hiiran region, Ali Jeyte.
The incident took place near Qabno, Mataban District.
Apart from the three people killed in the explosion, three other individuals escaped with injuries. Two journalists were among those injured.
Local authorities have launched investigations into the incident.
