The Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) held a virtual meeting with several political organizations on March 9.
During the meeting, TPEC discussed the most appropriate dates and times for the elections with the political representatives.
Furthermore, TPEC assured the participants that it remains committed to holding the one-person-one-vote (1P1V) elections in the semiautonomous state.
Puntland is scheduled to hold local government elections later this year.
The elections will take place in three regions; namely, Qardho, Ufeyn, and Eyl.
Currently, the regional state is experiencing an intense rainy season, which it has to consider together with the ongoing political situation.
