The Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) held mock elections in some parts of the region.
TPEC organized the mock polls in Ely District on September 19.
The exercise was part of the efforts the commission has put in to increase awareness among all prospective voters.
Officials from the commission stated that they organized the exercise to enable registered voters to get a better understanding of ballot papers.
Registered voters who turned up for the exercise also learned how to cast their votes.
Puntland is scheduled to hold local government elections on October 25.
