The Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) has announced plans to hold monthly meetings with political parties in the region.
Puntland, a semiautonomous state in Somalia, is scheduled to hold local polls later this year.
On Sunday, it held a meeting with various political associations in the region. Several pertinent issues were discussed during the meeting too.
For the most part, TPEC used the opportunity to bring the political parties up to speed on its preparations for the upcoming polls.
The polls agency informed the parties about the democratization process in the country.
On their part, representatives of the parties expressed their pleasure with the exceptionally admirable leadership that TPEC continues to provide.
