Authorities in Mogadishu arrested a traditional leader who supported Ethiopia’s controversial agreement with Somaliland.
Suldan Hooleey, a local traditional elder, was apprehended on Friday in the nation’s capital after expressing support for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that Ethiopia and Somaliland signed on Monday this week.
Local journalists confirmed the outspoken elder’s arrest.
Somalia has lashed out at Ethiopia for attempting to violate its territorial integrity, unity, and sovereignty.
