The 2023 global corruption ranking by Transparency International is out and it carries bad news for Somalia.
Once again, the report ranks Somalia among the most corrupt countries in the world.
Somalia scored a dismal 11/100 in the Corruption Perception Index 2023.
This indicates rampant corruption in the public sector with little to no signs of improvement in the foreseeable future.
The ranking comes despite the valiant anti-corruption efforts by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s administration in the last two years.
