President Donald Trump of the United States has recommitted himself and his administration to block Somali refugees from entering the country if reelected.
Trump said this on Friday, October 30.
The United States is scheduled to hold its presidential elections on November 4 in a race pitting incumbent Trump against his Democratic Party rival, Joe Biden.
Last week, President Trump stated that refugees from Somalia would not be allowed into the US because they are from “terror-compromised nations.”
He classified them together with refugees from other conflict-laden nations such as Syria and Yemen.
Trump said that his rival, Biden, has crafted a plan that would increase the number of refugees in the US by as much as 700 percent.
He said that most of the refugees from these conflict-filled regions would find their way into Michigan, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania.
