Turkey has appointed a new Ambassador to Somalia.
Ibrahim Mete Yagli becomes the new Turkish Ambassador with immediate effect following fresh directives from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Ambassador Yagli takes over from Ambassador Mehmet Yilmaz.
Amb. Yilmaz has been recalled to Ankara.
The new Ambassador is a career diplomat who has served the Turkish government in various positions.
He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs back in 1986.
Ambassador Yagli is expected to arrive in Mogadishu this month to present his credentials to the Somali officials before taking over from Yilmaz officially.
