Turkey Increases Investments in Somalia’s Infrastructure Projects

Turkey has increased its investments in Somalia’s infrastructure projects following the 14-year concession agreement between AlBayrak and the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).

FGS signed the agreement with the Turkish operator to enable it to manage the Port of Mogadishu for the next 14 years.

Turkey remains one of Somalia’s largest investors.

The government of Somalia also selected Favori LLC, a Turkish firm, to manage the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.

Further, Turkish technology was applied to renovate and modernize the Aden Adde International Airport too.

Top Turkish businesspeople have also pledged to invest in different sectors in Somalia.

A few of the sectors in line for increased investments from Turkey include health, rural development, security, and micro-macro enterprises.
