The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has vowed to continue supporting Turkey as the European nation celebrates the fourth anniversary of attempted coup.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo expressed solidarity with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of Turkey.
President Erdogan was the target of a coup attempt on July 15, 2016.
Farmaajo expressed his support and that of fellow Somalis on Twitter. He tweeted “prayers and remembrance of the selflessness” that martyrs exhibited in protecting the country.
Turkey has organized several events and ceremonies designed to remember the victims who lost their lives and fought to protect the republic.
Farmaajo vowed that Somalia would not abandon one of its most important international allies and pledged future support and cooperation.
