Ankara — Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday hosted Somalia’s Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, at his office in Ankara for talks focused on boosting bilateral relations.
According to an official statement, the two ministers reviewed ongoing partnerships and discussed new avenues for cooperation between Ankara and Mogadishu, especially in the ports and maritime sectors. They also explored opportunities to enhance ties across a range of other areas of mutual interest.
Both sides underscored the significance of their strategic partnership and agreed to deepen collaboration to promote maritime safety, trade facilitation, and capacity-building initiatives. The meeting reflects Turkey’s continued commitment to supporting Somalia’s maritime and port development as part of their broader diplomatic and economic relations.
