Turkish Airlines Cancels All Its Flights to Somalia

Following the news that Somalia had its first case of Coronavirus, Turkish Airlines has decided to cancel all its flights to the Horn of Africa nation.

After confirming the Coronavirus case, the Federal Government of Somalia announced that it was suspending all flights to the country.

Now, Turkish Airlines has followed suit.

According to a statement from the Turkish Embassy in Mogadishu, the suspension will last for the next two weeks.

The statement said, “FGS stopped all international and humanitarian flights to Mogadishu for 15 days, as part of efforts to fight Coronavirus and stop it from spreading further.”

Consequently, Turkish Airlines says that its last flight from Mogadishu to Istanbul will be on March 17 in the morning.

Since 2012, Turkish Airlines has been providing regular services to Mogadishu.
