Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs has congratulated his Somalia counterpart.
Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Turkish foreign affairs minister, congratulated Abshir Omar Huruse, his new Somali counterpart.
Huruse has taken over the foreign affairs docket after Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre announced his cabinet earlier this month.
Cavusoglu spoke with Huruse by phone on Friday, August 19.
During their phone call, the ministers discussed several issues including strengthening bilateral relations between Somalia and Turkey.
Over the years, Turkey has remained one of Somalia’s most important international allies.
