Twenty Foreign Fishermen Detained in Galmudug

Twenty foreign fishermen are behind bars after Galmudug authorities caught them fishing in the local waters illegally.

Security forces in Galmudug caught the men fishing on Sunday, November 27 without any official permission.

The 20 included 14 Iranians and 6 Pakistanis.

They were taken to Hobyo town where they are detained awaiting interrogation by authorities.

Prior to their arrest and subsequent detention, the 20 foreigners had been in the hands of Al-Shabaab terrorists from 2014 to 2019.
