Two government soldiers lost their lives in an explosive attack in Jowhar on April 17.
They died when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded along the road between Jowhar and the local airport.
Eyewitnesses said that the dead soldiers were from the Somali National Army (SNA).
The Sunday morning incident also left one other soldier injured. He is currently in hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.
According to sources, the explosion targeted vehicles carrying and escorting politicians.
The politicians as well as other senior leaders and officials were from participating in elections for House of the People (Lower House) seats in HirShabelle.
