Two villages in Hiiraan were rocked by heavy gunfighting on Tuesday morning.
Reports from the region indicate that the residents of Yasoman and Berayabaal villages woke up to intense fighting.
According to several sources, the fight was between terrorists and government troops.
Terrorists attacked army positions in the two villages in the early hours of the morning.
Sounds from heavy artillery were clearly audible as the fighting grew intense by the minute, thus forcing residents to take cover in the safety of their houses.
Sources further revealed that the terrorists were intent on blocking the road connecting Beledweyne and Bulaburde districts before staging an attack.
