A court in Puntland has sentenced two men to die for killing a prominent journalist a year ago.
Jamal Farah, the prominent Puntland journalist, was killed on March 1, 2021.
Two of the people who killed him received death sentences. They are to face death by a firing squad.
Two others were given varying jail terms.
Those destined for the death sentences are Adde Abdullahi Mohamed and Abdiqani Saleban Jama.
They both confessed their roles in Farah’s death.
Hassan Jama Mohamed was handed a jail term of 25 years. His colleague, Mohamed Ali Ahmed Qaroon, would serve a jail sentence of 15 years.
Saleban told the court that he was promised a payment of $50 for each person he killed.
