The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt have launched a secret campaign to recruit young Somalis for military training.
Thus far, the two nations have recruited and trained roughly 3,000 Somalis.
Sources revealed that the campaign kicked off a few months ago.
According to sources, those taken through this kind of training are aged 18-28 years old. Once they complete their training, their recruiters promise them well-paying jobs.
They all go through training in Egypt.
It is not clear whether the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has permitted UAE and Egypt to not only recruit but also train young Somalis.
