The United Kingdom government has announced an additional £5 million in funding to support Somalia’s security forces.
The UK government announced the addition funding on Sunday.
Since 2022, the UK has committed over £10 million to security forces in the country through the UNSOS Trust Fund.
Additionally, the UK has provided more than £47 million in bilateral voluntary contributions for military stipends to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
This funding underscores the UK’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Somalia’s security and supporting the fight against terrorism.
