A United Kingdom lawmaker has urged the government to provide Somaliland with special aid.
Gavin Williamson, a London Member of Parliament (MP), said that it is not right to send aid to Somaliland through Somalia.
“Somalia has a habit of using political coercion when Somaliland’s aid is channelled through it,” the MP said.
Speaking during a parliamentary debate, Williamson urged the UK to officially recognize Somaliland.
