The United Kingdom has released £100 million to support development projects in Somalia.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the UK announced the disbursement of the funds on Tuesday.
He announced it following his meeting with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Monday.
The UK Prime Minister added that the funds would go towards economic infrastructure in Somalia.
Sunak said that the finances would support agricultural development in the East African nation too.
The disbursement follows a request by President Mohamud for transition from humanitarian response to development projects.
Mohamud said this while addressing the Global Food Summit on Monday.
