James Swan, the United Nations Special Envoy to Somalia, held a virtual meeting with members of the various elections teams in the country.
Swan’s meeting with the electoral bodies took place on September 9.
Members from the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT), State Elections Implementation Teams (SEITs), and the Elections Dispute Resolution Committee were all present.
During the meeting, the UN Special Envoy discussed the progress of elections preparedness with the electoral teams.
He also called upon all stakeholders in the country’s elections and welfare to work together.
Special Envoy Swan stated that Somalia still has tons of challenges to overcome to guarantee its people the quality of life they deserve.
