The United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) is in Nairobi for a series of talks and meetings with senior officials of the Kenyan government.
SRSG Catriona Laing held discussions with Ambassador Monica Juma, Kenya’s National Security Advisor, on Tuesday.
Among the issues discussed was international support for Somalia.
Other matters that featured prominently in their talks included the stabilization of areas that the Somali National Army (SNA) had recently liberated from Al-Shabaab terrorists.
Laing and Amb. Juma spoke about the transition of the mandate from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to Somali security forces.
