UN to Help Somalia Strengthen Migration Management

The United Nations will work closely with Somalia to strengthen migration management in the country.

This emerged in a meeting between Mariam Yassin and Mohammed Abdiker on Friday.

Yassin is the Special Envoy for Migration, Returnees, and Children’s Rights.

She was in Nairobi for a meeting with Abdiker, who is the Regional Director for the UN’s International Organization for Migration (IOM) for East and Horn of Africa.

They discussed the need to strengthen migration management in a manner that responds to people’s needs.
