The United Nations is to provide further support for the development of the Somali Police Force (SPF).
This was revealed on Thursday following a meeting between General Sulub Ahmed and representatives of the UN Police.
Gen. Ahmed, the SPF Commissioner, met with UN Police officials in Mogadishu.
He briefed them on the ongoing security transition in different parts of the country. Gen. Ahmed and the UN team also discussed the impact of the transition on the operations of the police countrywide.
Specifically, their discussions centered on areas that security forces recently liberated from Al-Shabaab.
