The United Nations Under-Secretary-General Atul Khare is in Somalia.
Khare arrived in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, over the weekend.
On Sunday, he held discussions with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Their discussions touched on various issues including the ongoing military offensive against Al-Shabaab.
The scheduled drawdown of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) also featured prominently in their talks on Saturday.
