The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has condemned the murder of a Somali journalist.
UNESCO’s Director-General Audrey Azoulay hit out at those responsible for killing journalist Abdifatah Moallim Nur.
Azoulay called upon authorities to protect journalists and accord them the protection needed to perform their tasks professionally and effectively.
Nur, a well-known journalist in Somalia, had also been serving as the Director of the Somali Cable TV. The journalist died when a bomb exploded at a Mogadishu restaurant a while back.
