UNHCR Donates 189 Houses to Displaced Families in Baidoa

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) donated more than 189 houses to displaced families in Baidoa.

UNHCR built the transitional houses jointly with the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).

The government also sent its officials to attend the handing over ceremony, which took place on Thursday, December 24.

Baidoa, the administrative capital of Southwest State, is home to thousands of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

These transitional houses will provide the IDPs with proper accommodation while they wait for permanent solutions.
