UNICEF Commends Somalia’s Community Mobilizers for Success of Polio Campaign

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has commended the efforts of community mobilizers in Somalia for the success of the ongoing polio campaign.

On October 29, UNICEF posted their appreciation for the incredible role the mobilizers play in ensuring that polio does not decimate Somali children.

Currently, Somalia’s Ministry of Health has launched an immunization campaign in various parts of the country following the recent outbreak of polio in the country.

The health ministry is collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that Somalia emerges successful in this campaign.

A few of the stakeholders include World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF.

UNICEF said that the mobilizers are able to access every house in the community thus educating families on the importance of the polio vaccine and campaign.
