UNICEF Treating over 568,000 Children in Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia for Severe Malnutrition

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is currently treating more than 568,000 children in Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia for severe malnutrition.

The organization announced this through Mohamed M. M. Fall on Monday, August 22.

Fall is the UNICEF Regional Director of Eastern and Southern Africa.

According to Fall, millions of children in the three Horn of Africa countries are grappling with severe malnutrition as a result of the ongoing drought.

Failed rains in multiple consecutive seasons have made the situation riskier for children in different parts of these three neighboring countries.
