The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is to hold discussions on Somalia at the end of October 2023.
Several issues are likely to feature in the discussions on Somalia.
Such issues include security and the ongoing fight against Al-Shabaab terrorists in different parts of the country.
Similarly, humanitarianism and matters touching on politics and the looming elections will feature prominently when the Security Council meets.
Ambassador Ishikane Kimihiro will brief the Security Council on Somalia’s security.
Amb. Kimihiro is the Chairman of the Al-Shabaab Sanctions Committee.
