The United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) called on the people and government of Puntland to embrace community policing.
UNSOM issued this statement during a recent workshop that attracted officers from the Puntland Regional Police Force.
The workshop, which took place in Garowe, seeks to enhance security by facilitating trust and cooperation within the local communities.
Puntland officers were enlightened on the role of community policing in protecting human rights, gathering information or data, and combating crimes effectively.
