The United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) will help to develop the media sector in Southwest state.
UNSOM announced this groundbreaking news on Thursday.
The announcement followed a meeting between Ari Gaitanis and Abdifitax Ali Yusuf in Baidoa.
Gaitanis, the UNSOM Communications Chief, visited Yusuf.
The latter is Southwest State’s Minister of Information.
They agreed on the importance of having an informed members of public.
Gaitanis and Yusuf both stated that the media could play a significant role in keeping the public well informed.
