UNSOS Head Plants Tree in Mogadishu to Mark Start of 16 Days of Activism

The head of the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) has planted a tree to mark the start of 16 Days of Activism.

Lisa Filipetto, the UNSOS Head, planted the tree on November 25 at the compound of the UN in Mogadishu.

The 16 Days of Activism kicked off on Friday.

For the next 16 days, various activities will take part around the country to raise awareness of gender-based violence (GBV), which is a massive problem in the East African nation.
