The United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) will support the drawdown of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) through its aviation unit.
UNSOS announced this plans on Thursday.
It’s announcement took place a few moments after it was revealed that phase 2 of the drawdown will resume next week.
Next week, ATMIS will reduce its troops in Somalia by a further 3,000. The second phase is expected to December 31.
