Larry Andre, the United States Ambassador to Somalia, has congratulated Puntland for completing its share of federal parliamentary elections.
Puntland concluded elections for the six remaining parliamentary seats on Friday.
On Saturday, Ambassador Andre spoke with President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland for leading the region to complete the polls for House of the People seats.
Ambassador Andre and President Deni agreed that concluding the federal parliamentary elections was crucial for the next phase of the electoral process.
Only Jubbaland and HirShabelle are yet to conclude their polls.
After speaking with Deni, Ambassador Andre sent a message to Jubbaland’s President Ahmed Islam Madobe and HirShabelle’s President Ali Gudlawe.
Ambassador Andre urged Madobe and Gudlawe to lead their regional states to complete the elections too.
