The United States Embassy in Mogadishu has called for the immediate release of a Somali journalist.
The Embassy asked authorities to release journalist Abdalle Ahmed Mumin to seek medical treatment in Nairobi.
Mumin had been released from police custody on Sunday.
However, authorities then rearrested him on Monday at the Aden Adde International Airport just before he boarded his plane to the Kenyan capital.
The US Embassy called out the decision to release Mumin from custody only to deny him the right to travel.
