The United States has extended economic sanctions slapped against Somalia for yet another year.
A communiqué from the government of President Joe Biden shows that the sanctions will not be lifted for at least one more year.
The sanctions were put in place first by former President Barrack Obama.
Immediate former President Donald Trump approved the sanctions during his time in office too.
Now, President Biden, who was elected in the 2020 presidential elections, shows no sign of lifting the sanctions.
White House announced the extension of the sanctions on April 2.
