US Urges Somalia Leaders to Resolve Their Differences

The United States has urged leaders in Somalia to resolve any differences between themselves as soon as possible for the sake of the country’s peace and stability.

On September 20, Ned Price, the spokesperson for the US Department of State, issued a statement highlighting his nation’s concerns with what’s happening in Somalia.

In his Monday statement, Price noted the need for cooperation among Somalia’s leaders.

Specifically, he mentioned President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.

Differences between Farmaajo and Roble have played themselves out publically.

Moreover, Price urged the leaders to focus on completing the ongoing electoral process.

Somalia has already held elections for Upper House seats at the regional state level. Local government elections are now expected next month.
