USA Includes Two More Al-Shabaab Operatives into the Global List of Terrorists

The administration of President Joe Biden has included two more Al-Shabaab operatives into the global list of terrorists.

On August 6, the US State Department announced the addition of Ali Mohamed Rage (Ali Dhere) and Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir (Ikrima) into the global terror list.

Since 2009, Ali Dhere has served as the extremist group’s chief spokesperson. His influence in the Shura Council, of which he’s a member, is unparalleled.

It’s interesting that he has never appeared in this list before despite being closely linked with the militant group for over a decade.

The Kenyan-born Ikrima has served Al-Shabaab in various capacities for years.

His affiliation with the group has often brought him into the attention of American intelligence officials.

US intelligence officers believe that Ikrima was directly involved in planning and executing the 2013 terror attack at Kenya’s Westgate Mall, which caused the deaths of dozens of people.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken made these revelations on Friday.
