The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) commended a group of women for taking part in constructing a local school near Kismayo.
Several women joined hands to build the school located in Istanbul village.
The village is along the Kismayo-Jamame corridor.
USAID hailed the contribution of the women who sacrificed time and other resources to ensure that the school is up and running.
As of this year, over 700 children have enrolled at Istanbul Primary School.
