Wadajir Party, one of Somalia’s main opposition parties, has called for a “genuine reconciliation” process in HirShabelle.
In a letter dated October 7, the party highlighted the current attempts to form a new administration in one of Somalia’s semiautonomous states.
It reminded Somalis that HirShabelle remains one of the most fragile states in the East African nation because of the manner in which it was formed.
Consequently, Wadajir Party concluded that the “hasty formation” of the state has caused numerous recurrent disputes.
According to the party, the only solution the current leadership of the state has is to embrace genuine reconciliation efforts.
Furthermore, the party stated that all stakeholders have to be involved in any reconciliation effort in HirShabelle.
