Abdirahman Abdishakur, the leader of Wadajir Party, has condemned Friday’s brutal rape and murder of a teenage girl in Mogadishu.
On September 11, the country was shocked to learn that Hamdi Mohamed Farah, a 19-year old girl, was raped and thrown out of a six-storey building.
The girl later died from the injuries suffered during the ordeal. She was buried in a cemetery in the nation’s capital.
While condemning the ghastly incident, Abdishakur prayed that Allah would have mercy on Hamdi’s soul.
He also reminded Somalis to be on the lookout since rape and sexual offences committed against women are increasingly on the rise around the country.
Wadajir leader urged all Somalis to speak out against the vice in one voice. He asked Somalis to confront these types of crimes collectively.
