Abdirahman Abdishakur, leader of the Wadajir Party, held a meeting with President Said Abdullahi Deni in Mogadishu on Tuesday morning.
The meeting between the two leaders took place ahead of Deni’s planned talks with President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
Deni, Farmaajo, and Jubbaland’s President Ahmed Islam Madobe are scheduled to hold talks on the upcoming elections in the country.
Both Deni and Madobe skipped the recently concluded Dhusamareb III talks where FGS and leaders representing the Federal Member States agreed on an electoral model.
Deni’s meeting with Abdishakur focused on the prevailing political situation in the country.
Additionally, the two leaders discussed the impending political transition that incorporates leaders at the national and regional level.
